"White wood" distinguishes pallets you buy, new or recycled, from pooled pallets painted blue, red or another brand colour. White-wood pallets usually travel one way: once shipped, you don't get them back.
Kroger's procurement guidelines, for example, list white wood with no pallet exchange as their second choice after pooled pallets. Check each receiver's document.
